On each of the nine mornings leading up to Christmas, Filipino Catholics gather in the pre-dawn hours for Simbang Gabi, a novena of Masses that anticipates the celebration of Christmas. This tradition was introduced by the Spanish friars to allow the farmers to hear mass before going to the fields early in the morning. Simbang Gabi is also known by its popular Spanish name as the Misa de Gallo, or "Mass of the Rooster.''
Mark your calendars and join us this year for our highly anticipated and highly attended Simbang Gabi Masses at Holy Family! A reception with a delicious Filipino breakfast and light refreshments will be served at the Grade School Auditorium after each of the Masses! We look forward to seeing you!
