December 12th is the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas, unborn children, and the New Evangelization.
Our Lady of Guadalupe is unlike any other apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary. First, it is the only apparition where Our Lady left a miraculous image of herself unmade by human hands. Second, it is the only universally venerated Madonna and Child image where Our Lady appears pregnant instead of holding the Infant Jesus.
The celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe begins with the Triduum beginning on December 9 - 11 at 7:00pm in the church. We will then have our annual celebration for the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe early morning on December 12 with the following events:
6:00AM - Mananitas
6:30AM - Mass (in Spanish) w/ Mariachi
7:30AM - Reception in the Courtyard of Charity
A reception with delicious coffee, tamales, and a variety of Mexican bread will be held at the Courtyard of Charity immediately following the Mass. Thank you to the Guadalupanas Ministry for organizing this event! If any of you wish to be a member of the Guadalupanas, you may contact them at 818-522-5151 for more information. This event is open to all! We look forward to seeing you and your family!
